Movie Review: The Avengers & Avengers: Age of Ultron

Hi guys! Happy Friday! I hope you’re all doing well! I am doing great, even though I aaaalmost forgot to post this, haha!
Today I’m going to be reviewing both The Avengers & The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

With the new Avengers: Infinity War coming out next week I’ve been catching up on all my Marvel films to be as prepared as I can be for this giant crossover. That being said for the next couple weeks (because let’s be real here I probably won’t be seeing this new one until 2 weeks after the release date 😝) I’m going to be posting my reviews to all the movies.
I’ve already reviewed The Incredible Hulk, The Captain America movies, Doctor Strange, Spiderman: Homecoming, and Black Panther.

Now onto the reviews!

The Avengers

The Avengers: When Loki, Thor’s evil brother, takes possession of the energy cube called the Tesseract, a cube that gives off unlimited power, Nick Fury the director of S.H.E.I.L.D. creates his dream team of superheroes to stop him. This film stars The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawk Eye, and Thor, creating an epic tag team. This epic team all came together with some epic acting; the actors really all came through and played their roles so well. Aside from the great team, the actual plot to this film was really good, it had amazing action sequences paired with very comedic scenes and that left the viewer in stitches. When all of these characters come together, it really showcases how much these actors can do and how versatile they are. This film was really good in 3D, where the 3D actually enhanced the viewers experience, and it wasn’t just a few things popping out, but large objects, making the viewer feel like they were almost in battle with them. Even still, if you’re not seeing this in 3D, this film was still really well put together both cinematically and storytelling-wise.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron

The Avengers: Age of Ultron: Tony Stark is very headstrong about creating this peacekeeping program, while the rest of the Avengers aren’t as keen. When Stark goes ahead with creating this program against their knowledge, things go terribly wrong. Ultron is this humanoid who is dead set on human extinction and now the team must regroup to help save the world. It seems every Avenger movie outdoes itself each time. This one has got to be funnier than the last; the sarcasm is laid in thick this time around making this more humorous than ever before. This film you really need to see the previous movies with all the characters because there are scenes where character’s memories are pulled that otherwise leave the viewer with no context and slightly confused. The action is impeccable. The movie follows this nice rhythm where it’s action sequence followed by a scene of witty dialogue which makes for some good pacing. The characters are all so well played, and by this point the viewer expects them to be, and this was no exception. In this film the avengers go through quite a bit of hardships but through it all we gain some new avengers that makes whatever is to come sound exciting.

  1. I love both these films, but oh I really can’t wait for the release of Infinity War (not long to go now right? My friend and I have tickets for the midnight showing so I am seriously excited for that!) I’m glad you enjoyed both these films Meghan, and actually catching up on the Marvel universe releases so far is a good idea. I should probably try that myself. 😀
    Great reviews. 🙂 ❤
