Review: The Conference of the Birds

Hello friends, I hope you’re all having a good week and a happy Thursday. Today I’m going to be posting my review of Ransom Riggs’ novel The Conference of the Birds.

You can read my review of the first 3 books: Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children #1-3
You can read my review of book 4 + the novella: Map of Days + Tales of the Peculiar

The Conference of the Birds

The Conference of the Birds by: Ransom Riggs: Noor Pradesh is being hunted because she is part of an ancient prophecy that predicts a peculiar apocalypse. In order to save the peculiar world, they must keep Noor safe. H’s dying last words to Jacob were to take her to someone named V. This becomes easier said than done when they realize that V may not want to be found. This novel took the high from the previous one and kept running with it. The plots were still extremely exhilarating and engrossing to follow. There never seemed to be a dull moment; Riggs has really picked up his pacing from the first novel to now and it’s made for some great storytelling. The reader is totally head over heels for this story and are now hungrily anticipating the next novel. The characters really went through quite a bit between this and the last novel. There are so many character dynamics that seemed to shift more which also lead to the plots being as engrossing as they were. That ending really threw the reader for a loop; it was half expected, but half totally unexpected and the reader can only fathom what Riggs has up his sleeve next. This was an excellent novel in the already gripping tale of the peculiars.

  1. I really need to carry on with this series. I LOVED the first one and read the next two, but then my appreciation of them gradually dwindled and I never bothered to buy the fourth. Maybe I’ll go back and read from the beginning and see if it helps, especially as your review makes this one sound really good!

    1. I’m glad to hear my review has inspired you to try again with the series! I enjoyed re-reading the first three before I dove into the 2 newest novels! I hope re-reading sparks that love for the series! 🙂
